Smith History Library and Western College Alumnae Association present Whitney Womack-Smith as she examines gender politics in 19th-century women's abolitionist work and in Harriet Beecher Stowe's anti-slavery novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. In her book, Stowe presents female readers with examples of how they can use their influence to effect political change. Stowe’s connections to Oxford will be revealed!
