Book spine poetry is a stack of books, artfully arranged, making each title a line in the poem. These poems can be any length or style. Be creative with what you have on hand and submit your photographed poetry entries to Bookspinepoetry@lanepl.org. Visit the library to try your hand at creating a poem on a themed topic.

Join local poet and University of Cincinnati professor Dr. Stephanie Alcantar for an introductory poetry writing workshop. Dr. Alcantar has written several books of poetry, and in this workshop, participants will explore the world of poetry and discover the joy of self-expression through verse. No experience is needed. All materials will be provided.

We’ll talk about trends, do some word sprints and workshop each other’s pieces (only if you volunteer) in a fun, collaborative environment.
